The diocesan priests provide a path of hope in every step of our faith journey.
These men of God celebrate Mass, administer the sacraments, and educate and guide our families. Diocesan priests have given us decades of faithful service, receiving very modest compensation from our parishes for their work.
Many of these men continue their ministry for years after retirement, assisting pastors with weekend services, hearing confessions, and visiting the sick.
Since these priests are not members of a religious order or community, such as the Franciscans or the Dominicans, they rely on their payments from Social Security and the Archdiocesan Priest Retirement Plan for their needs. In recent years the number of retired priests has grown significantly, challenging archdiocesan retirement resources.
The CMA assists the priests through contributions to the Priest Retirement Plan.
Your generosity to the CMA helps us keep an important promise of care to these priests who have kept their promises to us.
